Just a civilian who remembers this day well. I was 18 years old driving toward Corpus from Bishop via Chapman Ranch with my boyfriend. I remember being run off the road in my Trans Am by a vehicle and then moments later several police cars in pursuit who I also had to yield the road to. Then I continued on my way and went to my classes. Later that day on the news I learned of Sgt Bock's death.

When I heard of his killer's sentence being commuted in 2004 because of mental illness I was in disbelief.

Through the years Sgt Bock's children have crossed my mind and I say a prayer for them.

I pray that whatever parole board comes upon his killers case that they have the sense to keep that criminal locked up forever.

I wish when I was that 18 year old girl that I would have been savvy enough to come forth as a witness to the killer's get away run.

RIP Sgt Bock
