Police Officer Marvin Bland was killed in an automobile accident while responding to a false fire alarm at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Officer Bland was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Department of Veterans Affairs Police for four years. He was survived by his wife and child.
