I knew Willie before he was a Police Officer. We both worked at Long’s Drug Store in San Leandro. Later, we saw each other at college. He was going for a degree in criminal justice, while was just trying to get a degree in Liberal Arts. Later, we both ended up working for the City of Oakland. Willie worked in the OPD, and I worked in HR. I was horrified to hear of his death at such a tender age. I remember Willie as a bright, friendly man. He was beautiful. Really nice person.
