John Joseph Moore

Patrolman John Moore was accidentally shot and killed by another patrolman on East Market Street near Public Square.

Patrolman Moore entered a local barber shop on his patrol beat when another Patrolman took out his service weapon to show customers, and it accidentally discharged, striking Patrolman Moore in the head.

Patrolman Moore had served with the Wilkes-Barre Police Department for 37 years. He was survived by his wife and three children.
