As I sit here and reflect on the family that I have been blessed with, I can't help but cry with tears of honor. Leroy Bedell was my great grandfather. He passed when my grandmother was just a young child. My grandmother Shirley passed away last September so I have began taking on the trandition of going to Granpa Befell`s graveside on Memorl Day as she took me when I was a child. I remember driving through Clarksfield and Grandma pointing things out to me that she remembered as a child. When she passed away just like Aunt Jackie said.. the State Troopers came to the funeral home and offered their condolences and asked if we would like an escort of the casket to the church for the funeral. Grandma would have loved that and would have been truly honored. I look forward to being able to go with Aunt Jean this year to a Fallen Hero memorial as she and she and her siblings did and continue to pass that tradition along to my children. I am proud to be a Bedell. Rest in Heaven with your children Grandpa. But I'm keeping Aunt Jean for a while!
