I too hate that part of the drive to Houston, passing that Diamond Shamrock. Still cant hear One More Day without thinking of that day. I was on the Palmer Fire Department at the time. We went to the semi that caught fire up on the highway when an onlooker watching them load you into Careflite hit the semi. Thank God for the guard rail or we would have lost a lot of guys. My partner and I went to your funeral. I realized your mother in law was my piano teacher when I was a kid. I appreciate all the nights you covered us on the freeway in Palmer on 45. Sorry I was a firefighter that day and not a cop stopping for diesel at the gas station. I wish I could have been there for you.
