George Loper

Policeman Loper was shot and killed while on his beat. A vehicle pulled up to him and the occupants called him over. When he approached the occupants opened fire, killing him. The following week the same four suspects, two men and two women, robbed a bank and shot and killed Deputy James Wilson of the Grady County Sheriff's Department.

The two men were convicted of murder and executed in the electric chair June 10, 1937.

Policeman Loper had been with the agency for three weeks and was survived by his wife and child.
