Patrolman James Stone succumbed to wounds received one month earlier when he was assaulted by a gang of street toughs.

Patrolman Stone was attempting to arrest a man when the man's friend struck Patrolman Stone over the head with a paving block. Patrolman Stone never regained consciousness and succumbed to the assault one month later.

Patrolman Stone was assigned to the 3rd Precinct.

The Brooklyn Police are now a part of history as are you. You died in the pursuit of justice. Though the fate of your murderer is not told here, we can only hope he faced true justice, if not in this world, then in the next.
