Trooper Tod Kelly was struck and killed by a vehicle on I-79 in Robinson Township.
He had been dispatched to the area after state police received reports of a large piece of metal in the roadway. Trooper Kelly was attempting to remove the debris from the highway when he was struck.
Trooper Kelly served with the Pennsylvania State Police for over 16 years and is survived by his wife, two grown children, his parents, and sister.
