Michael Maher

Special Police Officer Mike Maher was struck by a dump truck and killed while directing traffic at a paving project at the intersection of Routes 1 and 152.

The dump truck was backing up when it struck and ran over him at 3:00 p.m.

Officer Maher was a United States Navy Reserves veteran and had served with the Plainville Police Department for 16 years. He was survived by his two daughters, two brothers, a sister, and two grandsons.
