Damon Talbott

Patrolman Damon Talbott and Patrolman Ramon Solis were killed in a helicopter crash while participating in a training exercise in an Aerospatiale AS-350-B2 medical helicopter near Roswell, New Mexico.

The two officers, and a third member of the New Mexico State Police, were riding on the hospital-owned helicopter in order to learn procedures on how to set up landing zones at the scene of medical emergencies. It is believed the helicopter experienced a mechanical failure and crashed, killing the officers, and injuring the other occupants.

Patrolman Talbott and Patrolman Solis had both served with the New Mexico State Police for ten months after graduating from the same academy class.

Patrolman Talbott is survived by his parents and sister.

Hi Uncle Damon.
This is the first time I’m discovering this page and I’ve read every single reflection posted. you are so loved and so so missed.

I wish everyday to have met you, and to have you by my side. I know you would’ve been my best friend and biggest supporter.

I sleep with a pillow that has a shirt of yours sewn around it that Mimi made. It’s my biggest comfort and my way of knowing you’re still here, watching over me. I also was gifted the shirt you wore to see Chris Ledoux with mom in lubbock. I hug it often.

It’s so hard to explain to others how deeply I miss someone I’ve never met. It sounds crazy. But I know so much of me and who I am is because of you.

I am so endlessly proud to have your name, and tell people that I am named after you.

I love you, and will strive my whole life to make you proud. I’ll meet you one day, and cannot wait for our conversations.
