Special Agent Richard Luht was killed in an automobile crash in Fairbanks, Alaska.
He was driving his department-issued vehicle up a hill on Summit Drive when he struck the back of a slow-moving home heating oil delivery truck.
He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries several hours later.
Special Agent Luht had served with the Internal Revenue Service for 26 years. He was survived by his wife.
