William Robert Draper

Deputy Constable Draper was shot and killed as he and another constable attempted to serve a warrant on a man for assault. The suspect grabbed a rifle from his rear door and shot Constable Draper, killing him instantly. The suspect was apprehended four days later in Wister, Oklahoma.

The suspect was convicted of murder and hanged on October 10, 1909.

Constable Draper was survived by his wife and two children.
