Captain Craig was killed after being struck by a vehicle while assisting at the scene of a prior accident on I-430, near Little Rock.
Captain Craig stopped his patrol car to help the driver of a vehicle that had overturned during a winter storm. While at the scene, another vehicle lost control on an icy bridge and spun into Captain Craig and a citizen who had stopped to help. Captain Craig succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Captain Craig served with the Arkansas State Police for 26 years and was the commander of the Arkansas State Police's Family Protection Unit. He is survived by his wife and two children.
