Robert Young Clement

Officer Robert Clement and an officer from a neighboring agency, were shot and wounded while attempting to serve a warrant at a residence.

Upon entering the house, shots were exchanged and Officer Clement was struck in the abdomen and neck. Officer Clement died one year and eight months after the shooting. He had been in rehabilitation ever since the incident and was taken off of life support the day before he passed away.

The shooter was found dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound upon entry by the State Bureau of Investigation Tactical Team.

Officer Clement is survived by his wife and three-year-old son.

This would be the one moment in time that if I could change I would. Had I just stood firm and said we were not gonna serve that one warrant I would still have a good friend with us today. Bobby would still have his father today. Law Enforcement would have had twenty more years of outstanding policing from an outstanding Police Officer.
There’s not too many days that pass that I don’t think about this life altering moment in time. Miss ya Bert.
