Mark Arlin Stall

Police Officer Mark Stall was shot and killed as he and other officers made a high-risk traffic stop.

Boise officers had stopped the car, and the two occupants refused to comply with orders given to them. The officers called for backup to initiate the high-risk stop. The two occupants again exited the vehicle and immediately opened fire, striking Officer Stall on the right side of his body, just above his vest. Other officers returned fire, killing both suspects.

Officer Stall had served with the Boise Police Department for three years and had previously served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, in California, for four years. He is survived by his wife and two young daughters.

He is buried in Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.

Officer Mark Stall,
I think of you often...as we were classmates at The Master's College/University (TMC) long ago. You were a great friend at TMC, always funny and with a smile on your face. You were quite the character.

I didn't know until later on that you went into law enforcement. Sadly, I discovered this one day with work associated with law enforcement memorial work myself. I also went into law enforcement (USBP), and even joined The Honor Guard with the USBP, and I have also attended the LEO event there in Washington D.C.

I am all retired now. I never before thought to write anything on these sort of sites, but I do this for others and family members to see...

You are a Hero. Thanks for making the ultimate sacrifice to confront the evil danger in this world.

I know we'll meet again, but you are greatly missed. May your wife and children always be comforted and blessed.

In Christ,
D.B.
