I just learned of why OSU Blankenship Hall was named. The person telling me the story had known Officer Blankenship and had taken the R.A.D. women's self defense class. She also recounted that shortly after taking the class that she had to use the skills she learned to save her life. She attributes Officer Blankenship with her life as well. Since I have learned of this, I have shared the OSU R.A.D. class info with some of my co-workers and other OSU employees. I have also shared the link to the national R.A.D. website with friends.

I always try to thank our offices, fire personnel and military whenever I encounter them. It is because of their selfless devotion to helping others that we can freely go about our lives. We owe them all debts of gratitude and continued respect!!
