Henry Zimmerer

Patrolman Henry Zimmerer was struck and killed by a streetcar on Colerain Avenue, near Ethan Street, shortly after 2:30 pm.

He was riding the streetcar when he observed two men fighting in the street. He was preparing to jump from the streetcar to stop the fight and failed to see an oncoming streetcar on the tracks. The oncoming streetcar struck him just as he stepped from the streetcar he was riding.

The two men who were fighting were never identified.

Patrolman Zimmerer had served with the Cincinnati Police Division for less than one year. He was survived by his wife and two children.
