Sheriff Yoho was killed in an automobile accident on Route 22 near Cadiz, Ohio while responding to a disturbance at a local tavern.
Another vehicle crossed the center line and struck Sheriff Yoho's patrol car head-on, causing it to burst into flames. The driver of the other car was also killed.
Sheriff Yoho was a WWI veteran and was serving his second term as sheriff. He had previously served as a deputy sheriff for 8 years. He was survived by his wife, three daughters, six grandchildren, a brother, and two sisters.
