Claude H. Wyatt

Policeman Claude Wyatt was killed in a vehicle crash at the intersection of Third Street and Figueroa Street.

He and his partner were responding to assist another officer who had just arrested a burglar when the patrol car collided with a motorcycle. The patrol car then struck a utility pole, causing Policeman Wyatt to be ejected from the passenger seat.

Sir, today marks 95 years since you death, any your sacrifice is not forgotten. Last month the City put up a memorial sign for you at the N/W/C of 3rd and Figueroa St. Everyday day thousands of people getting on the 110 Fwy see your sign. I hope a few of them take pause from their busy days to remember the sacrifice of few for the betterment of meany.
