Richard was married to my sister. He was a wonderful husband to Dixie, father to Jenny, and stepfather to Vickie. His fellow officers spoke highly of him. I remember he was particularly careful to Polish his boots, helmet and tank on his bike to a very high shine. After being raised on stories of his Uncle Richard, my son is now a LEO with San Francisco PD.
