Finding this site is truly a joy for me. My sister, Vikki Newell, found the site earlier than I and left a nice reflection about our grandfather. We lost my grandfather when my Dad was a baby so he never knew his dad. Growing up we knew this story about my grandfather giving his life while trying to help someone else. It is heartwarming to see these comments from others who never knew our grandfather. This just shows that law enforcement is a brotherhood no matter where you are serving the public. I think my grandfather would like knowing that he had 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Thanks for all of you who left a memory. My name is Andrew McLean Wood,III and many of his great grandchildren and great great grandchildren have one of his names.
