Martin Wolski

Park Police Officer Martin Wolski was shot and killed by two men he approached in the park.

Officer Wolski, while on patrol, noticed two suspicious men in the park. As he approached the men, he was immediately fired upon and was fatally wounded.

Officer Wolski was survived by his wife and twin children.

The Chicago Park District Police in the City of Chicago was disbanded in 1957. Remaining officers were transferred to the Chicago Police Department through an intergovernmental agreement. Fallen officers are currently honored on the memorial wall of the Chicago Police Department as Chicago Police Officers.
