Sherman Brooks Winder

Motorcycle Officer Brooks Winder was killed while performing high-speed tests on a police motorcycle on the Belt Highway near Messanie Street.

His motorcycle began to experience wheel wobble while he was driving at about 75 mph. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered a skull fracture.

Officer Winder had served with the St. Joseph Police Department for 18 years.
