Dear Ron Baker,

You've been gone for over 30 years, and yet it seems etched into my mind what I saw, and how I remember them (the officers on the scene) what your name was, and it hit me... THE SAME RON BAKER THAT WENT TO SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL???? My classmate, and now here I was, just a person who was new to the department, as a civilian, working with the Physical Evidence Section, and assigned in gathering the evidence in the case in the in the senseless murder of a Dallas Police Officer.

The magnitude of the situation, has lasted with me, all these years, and its because of this incident, that I have worked these last 17 years with Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas. Oh how I wish it was around 35 years ago!

To the Baker Family, I know the pain of the loss, and I know that time does heal wounds, but for me, it will always be a part of my life, and knowing Ron in High School, it made it a bit more painful to be there, to record the evidence, and to deal with that personal loss.

May you all continue to be strong, and continue to be the family you are!

Blessings to you, and too ALL the men and women who wear a badge over their hearts!
