Officer Bob White was electrocuted while investigating a traffic accident in which a truck had rammed an apparatus resembling an electrical transformer. He apparently had gone to the front of the vehicle and picked up a fender which had been detached and came in contact with the power.
Officer White had served with the San Jose Police Department for over 2 years. He was survived by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
