Charles M. White

Officer Charles White was knocked to the pavement and kicked to death by a 34-year-old man he was attempting to arrest for public drunkenness at the intersection of SW 6th Avenue and Alder Street.

The subject was arrested and charged with murder. On November 18th, 1934, a grand jury failed to indict him.

Officer White had served with the Portland Police Bureau for 13 years. He was survived by his wife and grown child.
