Trooper Steven Bailey was accidentally shot and killed when his own weapon discharged while serving a search warrant at the home of a known drug dealer in Indianapolis.

Trooper Bailey had served with the Indiana State Police for five years and was assigned to the Headquarters post.

I was also working drug dealers and had the occasion to work with Bailey, the defendant had already violated probation in Fountain County and was allowed to be set free to continue his crime spree. That defendant should have never been out of jail during that time. So sorry he was so young at the time.
