John was my friend in high school. He was a great guy with much to give and that made a lasting impression on me. We lost track of each other when I moved away and it wasn't until I heard of his tragic end that I realized I missed out on time that I could never regain. I think about him to this day, especially when I hear in the news of other brave protectors who have given all. Thank you for your ultimate service.
