Daniel Scott Wasson

Officer Wasson was shot and killed while making a traffic stop for expired registration on Boston Post Road near the Orange line at 2:30 am.

The driver of the vehicle was high on cocaine at the time of the shooting. The suspect had previously served a prison sentence for shooting at police officers. The suspect was convicted of Officer Wasson's murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Officer Wasson was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had served with the Milford Police Department for two years. He was survived by his fiancée, who was a fellow officer, his parents, and three brothers.

As of 2022, he is the only Milford officer killed in the line of duty.
