Lyle Ward

Deputy Ward was killed in a motorcycle accident while attempting to overtake a car on Highway 200. He was attempting to pull a vehicle over when his motorcycle hit sand in the roadway, causing it to go out of control.
Deputy Ward had been hired only ten days earlier, because of his motorcycle experience, to combat speeders on county highways. He was survived by his daughter, mother, sister, and brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 78th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
