Oscar Tolbert

Policeman Tolbert was shot and killed while observing several people in a store he suspected of possessing illegal liquor. One of the men fired a rifle from within the store and bullet passed through the door and struck Policeman Tolbert.

The father of the man who owned the store was arrested at his home and charged with murder.
