Joe Sullivan was my father's cousin, they were very close being the same age and living next door to each other along with going to school together. Our family was deeply saddened our loss and remember him as our hero .

A policeman had been taken hostage and as they started to drive away with him Joe jumped on the running board of the car shooting the driver and the other bad men. The car crashed killing Joe but the young policeman was saved. He left behind his wife and a family that still, today, thinks of him and remembers him with love and fondness.
