Officer Franke Story was shot and killed with his partner's weapon after he and his partner stopped a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 86 north of Imperial.

Sandra Goff Brandt. I knew, respected and admired your Dad. We rode graveyard shift together in 68. He had a part-time business and told me about his daughter who was an airline stewardess and he got to fly all over for the cost of taxes only. He never complained about what happened only that he wished he could change it. He was a true Warrior, friend and good man.
