I never had the privledge to know my Grandfather. He died when my father was only 8 years old. I heard and read newspaper stories of what happened the night he died in a gunfight on a bridge entering Wilmington, N.C.
I am very proud of my Grandfather and will always honor him by telling his story to my children and my grandchildren. I never want them to forget the sacrifice that he gave with his life on that dredful night in 1931. We will remember him always.
