Officer James Swint was killed when he swerved into a telephone pole in order to miss another car during a vehicle pursuit.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of seven years, Officer Swint served with the Brunswick Police Department for four years. He is survived by his wife. The City of Brunswick established an educational scholarship in his name as a living memorial.
