Policeman James Shannon was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man near 34th and Williams Streets.
The suspect was apprehended and sentenced to life. He was paroled in 1937. A year later his parole was revoked and he was returned to prison for robbing three people in Denver.

We expect to have some of his descendants present at the ceremony and to send a clear message that he is not forgotten and his service and sacrifice is still acknowledged and appreciated
