William Schriver

Inspector William Schriver drowned after falling overboard from his patrol boat near the mouth of the Solomons Harbor.

He was on patrol in the Patuxent River when he ran out of fuel. An oyster boat captain towed his boat back to a spot in the marina where Inspector Schriver said he would row the rest of the way. When he failed to return a search was initiated. His body was found floating in the harbor at approximately 4:40 am. It is believed he was attempting to start the motor one last time when he fell into the water.

Inspector Schriver had been with the agency for one year.
