Clarence W. Alston

Patrolman Alston was shot and killed while investigating suspicious activity at Colfax and Broadway. He observed two men pulling a third man out of a car. He ran up to the vehicle, stuck his head in the window, and demanded to know what was going on. One of the men in the vehicle opened fire, striking Patrolman Alston in the head. One of the suspects was apprehended and the second committed suicide.
