Sergeant George Rupp was killed in an aircraft accident while searching for marijuana crops in Ferry County.

The plane that he was in began experiencing problems and clipped several trees during an emergency landing after taking off in Republic, Washington. Sergeant Rupp and the three civilian pilots in the plane were all killed.

My father, Michael John Main. Was one of the civilians that was killed in the same plane accident. He may have not have been a police officer but he sure was my hero. He was a great man and a tremendously awesome dad. I miss him everyday and it's been this many years and I still love him so much!!
