Officer David Ronk was shot and killed while attempting to serve a temporary protective order at a home at 87-636 Farrington Highway.
He located the man hiding inside of a closet in the home. A struggle ensued during which the man was gained control of Officer Ronk's service weapon and fatally shot him. The man was apprehended and sentenced to life.
Officer Ronk was survived by his wife.
