Robert Thomas Roberts

Officer Roberts was killed when he was thrown out of the patrol wagon he was driving at 29th and Diamond streets after it collided with a car.

Officer Roberts was a U.S Navy veteran of WWII and had severed with the Philadelphia Police Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.

It's worth reflecting on the fact that you lost your life in the line of duty on Thanksgiving Day in 1957. I am happy that you have been honored in death, and that other families have been able to enjoy that Thanksgiving and others afterward due to your service and that of other officers.
