Joseph Anthony Reiss

Police Officer Reiss was killed in a street collapse. Officer Reiss was sent to the intersection of 5th street and Clearfield Street to investigate a water leak. While standing in the street, it collapsed below him, and Officer Reiss was killed by the fall.

Officer Reiss was a U.S Army veteran of WWII and had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for less than 9 years.
