Richard Vance Reeves

Patrolman Richard Reeves was seriously injured when his motorcycle was stuck by a truck that ran a red light at the corner of Prospect Avenue and 9th Street. Patrolman Reeves died eight days later from his injuries.

Patrolman Reeves had served with the Kansas City Police Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and son.

Patrolman Reeves' brother, Police Officer Ralph Reeves, died in the line of duty on March 26th, 1968, while serving with the Compton, California, Police Department.
