Officer Edward Rea was killed in an automobile accident during a vehicle pursuit. The patrol car he was riding in was broadsided at the intersection of Van Dyke and Kennedy Circle.

Officer Rea had served with the Warren Police Department for one year and had previously served with the Detroit Police Department. He was survived by his wife and two children.

Anthony was my cousin but I never knew him growing up in Detroit as my Mama did not drive was devorced and was an Entrepreneur of her own eaterys and we worked 7 days a week. Every time I pass his building in Warren named after Anthony I get goosebumps. I hope one day we will meet in heaven,
