Ralph W. Ramsey

Border Patrol Inspector Ralph Ramsey was killed when he fell underneath a train he was attempting to board in Columbus, New Mexico.

He and another inspector were conducting checks of the train yard and noticed an open boxcar. While attempting to board the train he fell underneath a second train which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Inspector Ramsey served with the United States Border Patrol for only eight months.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and you will always be honored and revered.
