Officer William Peterson

I knew Bill Peterson and his wife, Carol, while living on Government Avenue next door to their apartment. As an 8 year old girl, I would go to their apartment and enjoy talks and cookies with Carol. My parents warned me about bothering them, but I assured them that Carol — and Bill when he was home — did not find me to be a bother. I never forgot their kindness, and have thought about the tragic accident to Bill over the years. I have often wondered what happened to Carol, and I only hope she knows how much her and her husband’s “visits and talks” meant to a young 8 year old.
