Patrolman Leslie Peters was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty.

He was on patrol when he swerved to avoid a vehicle that failed to slow down at an intersection. Patrolman Peters was thrown to the ground and died from his injuries seven hours later.

Patrolman Peters had served with the Haverhill Police Department for 23 years. He was survived by his wife and four children.

Thinking of you so much lately Les. I miss you so much. Our 4 grandchildren are amazing and as you know Shannon has been a Police Officer since he got out of the Marines. He always wanted to be like you. So proud of him as with all of them. We have 2 great-grandchildren also. 4 & 8. They know all about you. I see them often and it's nice but then I come home to an empty house again and that's sad for me. Remembering you because "Love is Forever"
