Deputy Walter Sutton and Captain Ted Dotson of the Eufaula Police Department were killed in a plane crash while conducting a flight to search for marijuana.
Deputy Sutton had served with the Barbour County Sheriff's Department for 3.5 years. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

I was shot twice in the line of duty in 2018 and had to retire. My perpetrator was also killed in our exchange of gunfire.
