John was one of my mentors in the first two years on the street. When ever I had a question John was my "go to" guy. During the summer of '80 I helped John build a block wall for the Mc Donnells. Now, every time I drive by that wall I think of John. Then, that terrible day came when I was dispatched to the Shooting on Sealane Way. John was a great example of an officer and a father. I believe we learned a lot from him and from the experiences of that terrible day. Decades have passed, but John has not been forgotten.
